Farewell Steve Irwin

As most undoubtedly heard Steve Irwin (the crocodile hunter) died in an accident of the Great Barrier Reef in Australia on Memorial day.

While I did not watch his show on a regular basis I would stop flipping and watch when I came across it. I know he drew some questionable attention many labeled him as "sensationalist", "careless" (when it came to taking his child into a croc enclosure) but I think nobody ever questioned his sincerity when it came to what he loved, his family and his love of nature.

Thoughts and prayers with Terri and children Bindi Sue and Robert.

Rest in peace Steve, hope to see you again.

Not making it to the meeting.....

So like many other large companies mine has people working offshore for us. Our offshore folks happen to be in Bangalore, India. So yesterday I get the following email (I will blank out the real addresses to protect the innocent):

From: Guy in India
Sent: Wednesday, April 12, 2006 7:52 AM
To: Business Analyst in my team who kindly forwarded this to me
Subject: Some status meeting you don't care about.

We have some Riot's going on in Bangalore and will not be able to make it for this meeting. Sorry about the short notice.
Thanks,
Guy in India

sure enough

I particularly like this section:
"Distraught fans smashed cars, burned buses and battled with police Thursday in the streets of Bangalore, angry they had been unable to view the body of south Indian film icon Raj Kumar.

Furious they had been unable to get into the stadium, the crowds attacked policemen, pelting them with rocks and chasing them through Bangalore, the hub of India's high-technology industry."

WOW!

Could it be that there are people out there even crazier than themcrazyamericans, I know it's hard to believe! Can't believe I said it myself!

So stay clear of Hollywood 'cause who knows someone might go Sodoku on you when the next Celebrity dies, or worse yet they might threaten us with moving to Canada! and as we all know we could not possibly spare any Celebs !

So when did salt become a luxury good again anyways?

So I understand that back in the days long gone by salt was worth it's weight in gold and that it was a rare commodity, but what is the deal with getting one package of salt when driving through your nearest favorite fast food place for your fries, is it for healthreasons? moneysavings? or is it just a case of themcrazyamericans at work?

....and with that back to your regular schedule programming.
